The vision and dedication that sparked the SPICMACAY movement.

Founder of SPICMACAY

Dr. Kiran Seth

Dr. Kiran Seth, born in 1949, is Professor Emeritus at IIT Delhi and the visionary founder of SPICMACAY (1977). Honored with the Padma Shri in 2009, his lifelong mission has been to ignite young minds with the subtle, mystical essence of India’s cultural heritage.

Under his guidance, SPICMACAY has grown into a movement conducting over 5,000 events annually across India and abroad — from baithaks and lecture-demonstrations to heritage walks and conventions — reaching millions of students worldwide.

Even today, his commitment continues through an extraordinary 14,000 km solo cycling yatra across India, begun in 2022, spreading awareness of Indian classical music, dance, crafts, yoga, and cinema. Through this journey, he has inspired countless young people to reconnect with India’s timeless traditions.

“Through art, we connect to our roots and discover the discipline that shapes our character.”

Vision

To inspire youth by immersing them in the values of our cultural heritage and to spread the spirit of volunteerism throughout society.
